Smart girls is back. The 'sister' magazine to japanese menswear bible Smart Magazine went on a hiatus a couple of years ago, apparently due to the falling out between founder, erotica mastermind and photographer Yasumasa Yonehara and the publisher of the mag. With wonderful editorial material such as "All nude & fashion", Smart Girls was the japanophile hipsters pornography of choice during the worst of the urahara craze in the late 90s and early 00s. You know the deal, lots of panty-flashing and looking innocent directly into the camera. Smart Magazine being the jap fashion mag it was/is, would like any other japanese fashion mag at times tend to look like a product catalogue for bape, stussy, soph and the likes. This somewhat rubbed off on the sister mag and culminated in a wonderful marriage of tasteful product placement and boobies in the bape girls special..

Yasumasa Yonehara bares some reseblance to grandpa pornophile photographer himself - Terry Richardson (albeit the pow-penis obsession-if any, is alot more low-key, at least in the editorial material), having been able to cross over from the semi-porn / hipster genre and into more mainstream work/art, and even got abit of recognission in the process.

Anyway, the 'new' Smart Girls features abit more arty stuff than the last rendition of the mag and alot less full-on frontal booby shots, perhaps in an attempt to broaden their target audience (which I'm having a hard time seeing outside of japan), those negative news aside, it is still a must buy for any girly mag connoisseur who demands his filth holds up to the highest aesthetic standards!
