Peter Seeger - dirty communist extraordinaire

Last week The American Public Broadcasting Service, PBS dedicated 90 minutes to 88-year old folk singer Peter Seeger as a part of their ongoing "American Masters" series. Seeger is (besides writing what is considered the "absolute authority" or "bible" on how to Play the Five-String Banjo) most famous for being the author of "Turn, Turn, Turn!" as performed by The Byrds and "Where Have All the Flowers Gone?", a song that at first was considered to anti-military for the American airwaves of the time and was subsequently bojcotted for a good while before reaching general audiences. Anyway, it's kinda ironic that Seeger gets a TV program dedicated to him, having been blacklisted from all and any TV since the second red scare under McCarthy. Well, the truth is Seeger was not blacklisted from ALL Television, for some reason he was allowed to perform good wholesome songs on children television shows. SO, it took an odd 60 years for his membership in the Communist Party of the United States of America to be forgiven, perhaps something to do with the general love-bombing by fellow freedom hating reddie Bruce Springsteen who released a concept album in 1996, interpreting 13 Seeger songs?

Anyway, this is an example of what good modern communist children television featuring former(?) communist Peter Seeger looks like.
